Elior Group

The Challenge 

Elior Group, a leading provider of catering, hospitality, and facilities management services, employs over 10,000 people across seven brands in the UK. Prior to working with First Advantage, Elior’s hiring and compliance processes relied on manual checks, which often slowed down candidate onboarding.  

Helping with compliance with policies and applicable laws for Elior Group while maintaining efficiency was a significant challenge, especially given the high volume of staff needed across diverse sectors including business services, education, healthcare, heritage sites, stadia, and defence. Internal Elior Group’s teams also faced the challenge of adapting to new technology and processes, requiring support and training.  

The Solution 

Elior Group partnered with First Advantage, initially starting with the Online Disclosures platform in 2015 before migrating to the KnowYourPeople (KYP) platform in May 2025. The migration included the integration of a bespoke Dayforce API, enabling automation of background screening and compliance checks.

With this centralised platform on Elior Group side, Elior Group was able to expand their use of background screening services including: 

• Digital Right to Work (RTW) and Identity Verification 
• DBS Checks and OCRC legacy checks 
• BPSS Screening 

The KYP platform provided live reporting, self-serve access, and a centralised hub for all background screening checks. First Advantage also supported Elior Group’s transition with user support guides, training courses, and ongoing account management. 

The Impact 

The partnership with First Advantage has delivered significant improvements to Elior Group’s hiring and compliance processes. Automated checks have streamlined onboarding, eliminated delays, and enabled hiring managers to place candidates into roles more quickly.  

By centralizing its processes, Elior Group has also strengthened compliance, with self-registration and profile ordering now ensuring that no requirements are missed. Internal teams found the KYP platform highly user-friendly, with features such as the chat function and real-time updates enhancing efficiency and day-to-day operations.  

As a result, Elior Group has been able to simplify and accelerate its hiring process, maintain compliance standards, and meet workforce demands across the UK with greater speed and confidence.
