The Challenge 

Prior to partnering with First Advantage, GB Recruitment faced significant challenges in their background screening processes. They relied on paper-based DBS checks, which resulted in lengthy processing times of 3 to 4 weeks. This long processing time was hindering their ability to place candidates quickly and effectively, impacting their service delivery to their clients. 

The Solution 

In 2015, GB Recruitment began utilising First Advantage’s Online Disclosures platform, which streamlined their DBS check process. In May 2025, they fully transitioned to First Advantage’s KnowYourPeople (KYP) platform to expand their pre-employment screening process, allowing them to better manage background checks more efficiently.  

The KYP platform provided them with a comprehensive suite of services, including social media checks, PEPs and sanctions, pre-employment checks, and ID checks. This migration not only improved processing times but enhanced GB Recruitment’s ability to respond quickly to client queries and onboarding needs. 

The Impact 

GB Recruitment’s collaboration with First Advantage has yielded significant improvements for the customer’s business. The processing time for DBS checks has been reduced by over two-thirds, facilitating quicker candidate placements. Additionally, the KYP platform has provided real-time reporting and self-service access, thereby enhancing operational efficiency.  

Furthermore, First Advantage’s dedicated account management has strengthened the partnership. Consequently, GB Recruitment has expanded its service offerings and enhanced its profile among both existing and prospective clients, solidifying its position as a leading education supply agency DBS provider in the region.
