UK employers must treat Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check applicants who have a criminal record fairly and should not discriminate because of a conviction or other information revealed. The UK Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) has produced a sample policy statement which can be used or adapted for this purpose. You will find this sample policy on page 3 of this document.
